Mar 10th 2009; Day two of The North Face taking on Island Lake Catskiing.
A North Face crew of 18 are at Island Lake Lodge this week having what some are quoting as “the best heli skiing of their lives”. With 50cm of fresh this week and blue bird sky’s they are having an epic trip! Joining the crew is a long time Island Lake fan and past investor, the legend himself Scot Schmidt. “The experience here today was classic Island Lake. I love this place, Incredible terrain, perfectly gladded tree skiing and fantastic dry champagne powder” said Scot. “Being here brings back memories of the past, filming PTex Lies and Ducktape, ripping it up with the late Craig Kelly – the history is part of what makes this place special for me, it’s always great to come back”.
The North Face crew wraps it up tomorrow with a final day of shredding the pow under blue-bird skies. Here are a few photos of Scot getting the goods today taken by staff photographer Todd Westlake – enjoy!
